Who is it for?
Managers, trustees and staff with responsibility for developing their organisations.

What is about?
Localism is the new watch word - for your organisation to survive you need to know the community in which you work and who uses your services. This course elevates the principles of equality and diversity and makes them an integrated and useful part of your work.

What will I learn?
This course will help you to:

- Gain an in-depth understanding of who makes up your local community

- Know who does, and crucially, who doesn't use your services

- Identify ways of making your services more accessible and relevant to those who do not use them.

- Integrate equality principles into your service provision with integrity

- Develop an Equality Impact Assessment for your organisation

- Demonstrate to funders and stakeholders how your organisation is adapting to the most up to date expectations of equality good practice.

Participants will be able to gain Open College Network
accreditation for their learning by undertaking some pre- and
post-course work. An additional OCN charge of £15 is payable
if participants wish to gain accreditation. This is optional.
